Question Timeframe on final decision after formal hearing

Does anyone know how long the hearing officer has to make their decision after a formal hearing? I am at day 32.

It varies with the state; each have different rules for workers comp.

I was actually given a time frame at my hearing

Some states can take up to 90 days+ for a decission to come through.

Exclamation Re: Timeframe on final decision after formal hearing

The only timeframe given at hearing was that all final arguments had to be into the hearing officer within 30 days. I am trying to find out how long the hearing officer has to make a decision on the final arguments. I am in Maine and have searched the state website for WC and found no information citing a timeframe for the hearing officer to follow.

    There is no time limit.

Most states have a time frame but it is largely ignored by the hearing officer. In Florida for example a final order must be issued within 30 days of the final hearing but it rarely happens. We have actually had to file for a status conference to obtain an update in some cases.

Atfer the final hearing it isn't final . They can appeal which takes "time". I won my case and my appeal . Still no results. Contacted Compliance and Practices a year ago they are still reveiwing. "Final Decision" I looked it up in websters dictionary unfortunately there is no "final decision" according to Liberty Mutual and I hate their new commercial about people helping and caring what a joke. I thought after years in documentation and "final decisions" my case would be resolved..... it's all a joke and the joke is on the injured worker.

In Massachusetts on the DIA website it says the judge has 28 days; my lawyer told me the judges can take however long they like; about a year is average. Meanwhile, you can't get the help you need. What a farce.
