Default Fired While on Workers Comp

i was fired today.they gave me the option to not take meds while on duty or be terminated.but the doctor told me to cotinue taking my personal meds.they didnt want to except the fact that they where prescribed by my personal doctor.but when i told the work comp doc that i already had some she told me sinse you already have some just continue taking them in the mean time i'm refering you to another neuro specialist.so i told them that i have to take them i'm in costent pain and i havent been fixed.besides they went against the doctors restrictions and thats how i reinjured myself.bottom line i'm not signing anything thier wrong and i have the paper work to prove it.

Sorry to hear that . I have been fired as well. I am still collecting TTD and been out since 08 of may. Do you have a lawyer? And why you did not let them pay for your med? Can you explain a little more ?

on my first injury i was released in october of 08.he released me with specific restrictions.they didnt wait for his restrictions and forced me back to work using restrictions that they copied on the internet.so meanwhile since the doctor released me he said he could no longer prescribe me any meds.so i started seeing my personal doc getting my meds.on returning to work i hurt myself again and they sent me to the company doc just like at the begining of my first injury.when i saw her she asked if i had anything for pain i said yes so she said continue them and she also put it in writing.after the job saw i was on pain meds they said i couldnt be at work while under the influence.they said i could either stop taking them while on the clock or quit.because they were not given by the comp doc.but my point is the comp doc told me to continue my personal meds and those were her orders so here i am.and yes i have a lawyer and he said let them fire me.

I would talk to a regular attorney..not a work comp....sounds like discrimination against your disability. I am not sure how the laws work there I know here in Illinois I talked to 3 attorneys they all willing to take my case on discrimination against my disability from them. Here you only have 180 days to file so start looking and to talking to someone now. Good luck and keep us updated!

I want to say this when ever you get hurt on the job you always report it right away. When they tell you are ask you at they doctor do you need med for pain and you are in pain you take it because if not they will do exactley what just happen to you. Also the company doctor works for them and not you. You still can get a lawyer which you do , I suggest a WC lawyer they know all the rules and just do what they tell you to do you still have a claim. Update me.
