    Default Thank You Tony

I just wanted to let you know I have been reading some of your post, and, it has helped me to understand a lot. I have learned from your post one thing, that I will never forget. I have learned that I will never be the trusting and nieve person I was 2 years ago. Thank you for taking the time you do to maintain this board, and keeping it real. There are many people here, who have been helpful, and I am greatful that they all take the time to care about IWs, and try to help them get through some very bad times. I only regret that I did not find this board 2 years ago. I don,t know how you keep up with it all here, but, I am sure glad you do. Dh and I will let IWs we find know about this board. Maybe they will find it in time to keep them from going through what we have. Thank you.

I so agree with a lot of people in the system. I was fired for getting hit by a crane at work. It distroyed my shoulder. I have had 3 surgerys on it so far and another one next week. The comp doctor says we need to do everything to fix it so they have rebuilt my rotator cup, transplanted bones, added screws and nothing helped. Now they want to do more. My doctor said It is a waste of time; i need a total shoulder replacement and thanks to all the crap they have already done, He feels that the odds of it working are very slim. One thing they all agree on ( 3 different shoulder doctors) is that I will lose my arm in the long run.

All I have ever done is heavy labor and now I can't return to that type of work.

I am only 42 and scaired to death about what my future holds for me and my wife and 6 kids. We have lost our house and had to rent... I lost my car and rely on friends to get us around. This is effecting ever aspect of my life from friends to sex.
The ins comp sent me to see a shrink, the guy asked if i was depressed and put me on meds and that was it.... I thought i was going to see someone who could talk through some of this mess with me and help me to see a light at the end of this long tunnel. I guess I was wrong.

My biggest fears are that I will end up homeless and run into problems with the state over my kids. I cant provide for them!!!

My attorny says to hang in there, that I stand to gain quit a lage settlement BUT that is easy to say when you have a pay check and make a good living.

I try to tell myself to breath and take this one day at a time BUT my life has no night or day anymore...its 24/7 hell and 'im scaired for my family.

    Hi Mikey,

I am sorry for what you are going through...

    http://www.patientadvocate.org/report.php

The link above has a lot of good resources if you need them, from food banks, help with paying for utilities etc. You just scroll down to your state. These resources are in alphabetical order, and many do not apply. There are pages of different resources over 400 from NC.

Many injured workers find themselves in a tough financial situation. This is usually just temporary, so hang in there.

If you have not done so already, I recommend applying for social security disability. This will be added income, and you also will receive benefits for your minor children.

And on another note, and reason for this thread, thank you tony for monitoring this site.
