W/C Denied the Release of My Med Record

i was injured in georgia W/C denied the release of my medical records what can i do to get them..my present doctor has sent the medical release forms i signed to the W/C doctor i was using at the time.But W/C refused to release.Btw my comp case has been settled as of aug 2008.Any advice

they might be on file with your settlement papers. you can try contacting your work comp board.

thanks for the info........... i'll call my lawyer and see if he can help.but can they refuse to release them

When you say you contacted 'W/C" are you referring to the WC board/court, or the IC/Insurance Company you received benefits from.

The W/C court doesn't have all your medical records..only the documents as they pertain to the litigation of your claim. The IC is under no obligation to provide you with any documents that pertain to your claim..you are not the insured party.

So...if you want your medical records, contact the physicans who treated you for your injury. You are entitled to any/all doctors medical reports/records for any treatment you were provided to your injury.
