In a landmark decision, filed November 26, 2010, the AK Workers' Compensation Board has opened the door to having legal representation and recording of Employer ordered Medical Exams (EMEs). While portions of this 31 page document are case specific, the decision and order applies equally to any and all other AK work comp cases. For the final Conclusions of Law see the discussion starting on page 27, #5 and concluding on page 31, #5. The entire document is found at:

Remember this: the work comp doctors are being paid thousands of dollars to review your medical records and do your exam. No matter how friendly they are, don't trust them! they are working fo the insurance company! It is probably best to let them know in advance that you will be recording the exam. Stick to your guns! You are your own best advocate! Good luck!
