Default Personal Health Care While Out on TTD

Hello, Iím currently receiving TTD benefits. While I was working I opted out of insurance benefits and instead received the cash to pay for insurance on my own. Since I am no longer working I am not reving the extra monies to pay for personal Health Care. Is my employer obligated to add me to the Employer Health Plan now?

    Question from California. Thank you.

    Short answer - NO.

You were not enrolled in the health plan, therefore, you were not paying premiums. Who would be paying the premiums now ? Your employer ? I doubt it.

You don't qualify for COBRA, since you weren't enrolled in the first place.

That money should be included in your AWW/Average Weekly Wage, when calculating your TTD benefit rate.
