What Happens After a Walk Through Hearing

My workers compensation claim was made in the State of: California
I was wondering what happens after my attorney goes to walk through hearing. Is this were my case ends and I get my settlement check in the mail or is their more that will happen in my case.

generally a "walk thru" is a process of getting a settlement agreement approved by the comp court.
that can't happen unless you have been given full information about your benefits and the terms of the settlement as well as a legal requirement that you sign settlement documents.
if you have not signed anything, there cannot be a settlement.

I sign the documents back in Feb.

at the time you signed papers there should have been an explanation of the process and what you were doing.

depends on what happens at the walk thru.
I assume it was compromise and release agreement.
then either the settlement will be approved by the court or set for full hearing.
if approved, then the written order will be issued and sent to all parties.
once the written approval is received by the carrier then they will initiate payment and file closing processes.

if not approved, you'll have to renegotiate or go to court depending on the issues.

Once the judge reviews/approves a C&R, the carrier generally has 30 days to issue a check and close the file.

"Back in Feb."... do you know the date of the walkthrough, do you know when the carrier rec'd the documents?

the papers was signed on 2/14/12 at my attorney's office, the reason their was delay about getting my settlement the wc was trying say that i owed them $5000 back pay because of tpd they thought it was permit total disability. I guess they figure out 2 days before I had to go to court on the 3/14/2012 that I was right and they were wrong. And I did not have to go to court after all. so my attorney took the papers for judge during walk through.
