Surgery Done, Why is WC Refusing to Pay Me

My workers compensation claim was made in the State of: california
I don't understand, why is WC refusing to pay me. They approved my surgery and meds, but don't want to pay me money they owe me from ttd from august 2011 to now.! Also my employer laid me off, what do I do.? I did not exceed my benefit amount, I only received 12 weeks paid ttd and then I wasn't paid anything else.

file for penalty and take them to comp court.
you could also contact your information and assistance officer and see if they will help

you could contact your employer. they may be able to intercede on your behalf.

Have to say that's a long time to go without benefits, and you have not indicated you've contacted an attorney. www.caaa.org for names in your zip code.
Can't tell ya why benefits are being denied, but you should have rec'd a NOPE letter explaining that.

File for UI benefits...you won't be eligible as you are out on disability, but filing will protect your date of entitlement if you have qualifying base period wages.
Nothing you can do about the layoff...that a business decision, not WC.

Thank you, I have contacted attorney and I'm on UI, but my attorney said I need to apply for diability... thank you for the info.

Ok, so you have been released by your PTP to return to work, and you are actively seeking suitable employment that is within any permanent restrictions you may have (?)
If the answer to that is "no, my PTP still says I am "disabled" and unable to work".... then you are potentially committing a fraud against the State of California every week you certify you are eligible for those UI checks. It's illegal...

You may be eligible for SDI/State Disability Ins benefits... if your PTP continues to certify disability exists. EDD/SDI will place a lien against your WC claim.
