Forced to Work Outside My Tour Resulting in Missed PT

My workers compensation claim was made in the State of: NY

I am back to work from surgery after a year off. I am working my old position at full duty. I make my Physical Therapy appointments for 2 hours after my shift is over but I have been forced to work overtime (past my scheduled tour) even after explaining that I have these appointments scheduled. This resulted in me having to cancel my appointments. I did the right thing by scheduling them on my time yet it seems like I am being denied treatment with this little loophole.

What, if any, are my rights here?

review your company's sick leave policy.
if you are being denied sick leave, contact your labor commissioner.

If you've been back to work, full duty, no restrictions, the PT is optional, and on your time. You are not being denied treatment....these PT appts are just like going to your regular Dr appts.

Sick leave is not mandatory, nor governed by any labor laws. PTO/sick time is a benefit provided by your ER. May be subject to union contract.
