there is no such thing as a compensibility rating.
a medical opinion about whether an injury is compensible can be changed.
a permanent disability rating can be changed.

If you don't have an atty, the PQME report must be provided to the DEU. The DEU will calculate a rating based on the report.
If you disagree with that rating...you file a DOR and go to hearing for a judge decide.

You can get a medical/legal evaluation (a QME) by a Dr of your choice, out of your pocket. When the claim settles, you may/may not be reimbursed.

Thank you for your quick reply. What if you (and the majority of doctors on the case) do not agree w/the AME/QME? Is there any recourse??
Also, Is there a way to find out/obtain (audit?) the bulk clientele of the QME (private-walkin-in type vs. IC referrals), to avoid a conflict of interest situation.

Your primary treating physician can write a rebuttal to the AME report. Some doctors will do this, not all.

You can call the doctors office and ask them what their majority of their refferals come from. I don't know if this will help you now...if you have allready been seen by an AME and the report was written.


Have you googled your AME? Sometimes you can find information this way as well.
