Default Workers Comp Approved Surgery, But Pre-Op Found A Problem - Is It Covered?

I was approved for surgery, yet during the pre op tests my EKG was not good enough for surgery, having a a previous settlement in 2002 they had compared EKGs from that surgerys EKG.I have" lifetime medical" that OKd the surgery, My question is this. If a test stands in the way of an approved surgery, does the Ins Comp have to pay for it?
