Question Using Recordings at Worker's Comp Hearings

I have made a lot of recordings of the conversations at work and I have recorded the general manager telling me that I will be placed back in my job when released by the doctor. How will that effect my employment if they decide to release me when the doctor does? The reason I ask this is I have already seen three I/W's released. My attorney said to save these recordings for court but he hasn't heard any of them.Anyway can these recordings be used to constitute a wrongfull or retaliatory termination lawsuit if they discharge me at doctors release?Does his saying this not constitute a verbal agreement or contract? And I quote "I promise".
