Default Award for Loss of Range of Motion vs CDA

My husband was injured a couple of years ago, when he was released back to work they gave him an "Award" for loss of range of motion. The same site is now completely re-injured and he needs another surgery. Did we lose the right for loss of wages this time around by taking the "award" two years ago? I have read that if you agree to a Claim Disposition Agreement you often lose the right to receive payment for lost wages in the future. I don't see anywhere on the papers that he signed where it indicates it being a CDA, just an Award.
I would really appreciate any input.

    Thank you,
    Wendy
