Default Broke My Back and Had a T11-L3 Spinal Fusion

Went for my IME today (I am in the State of WV) and wondered what the rating percent meant for terms of payoff? I figure I will be at least 20% because of the compression fracture. I am not sure if any more will be added based on the loss of two thoracic vertebra due to the fusion. But generally speaking at a 20% impairment rating what can I expect?

You can expect weekly benefits to continue until the impairment indemnity benefits are exhausted.
There is no guarantee of any 'payoff" to cash settlemetn in a comp claim. IF you do negotiate a sash settlement, it is not likley to be the full amount you are due.
Info on benefits in WV WC system are here http://www.wvinsurance.gov/WorkersCompensation.aspx
indemnity benefits are not based on the type of injury, or amount of treatment provided. An impairment rating will be used to determine the % or lost earning capacity, or reduced ability to compete in the open labor market.
