    Default About Job Protection

I am in the middle of a claim which started 11/26/10. I am in the process of waiting for authorization for surgery. I was told by a friend that if this claim is still going on after one (1) year I can lose my job. Does anyone know if this is actually true?? (btw... I work for the state). Thanks....

nothing magical about 1 yr; unless you are under contract.
if your job is covered by the Family&Medical Leave Act you get 12 weeks of job protection.
filing a comp claim against your employer does NOT give you immunity from termination.
