Default Hurt Back at Work, then Therapist Hurt Knee

In April 2012 I hurt my back at work, I had to go straight to the ER. I had 2 herniated disks in my low spine. I had to go see a spine surgeon, who sent me to pysical therapy, I started physical therapy and then went back to doc, they did a nerve test found i had nerve damage, they then sent me to a pain management place to get injections. For six weeks every 2 weeks i went for injections in my back all the while still doing physical therapy. After the last injection the pain management doc wanted to try something else, the workers comp wanted me to have an IME. I then hurt my knee at physical therapy, I went to the IME doc and he wanted me to have 18 more sessions of therapy, spine doc wanted to do surgery and pain management wanted to do something different. So now i have 3 docs all disagreeing on what to do with me. I go and see my doc about my knee and they do an MRI and it shows bakers cyst. Another week or so goes by and the swelling and pain doesnt go away and is getting worse so the orthepedic surgeon, this is a fourth doc decides to do orthoscopic surgery on my knee because everything is pointing to meniscous issue. He gets in there and i have a 14 mm flipped tear in my inner meniscous, he has to trim it away. I had to pay for the knee issue out of my pocket. I email my nurse case manager and tell her that this is all caused from the therapist and that it is even written in her pt notes that i was complaining of my knee hurting. Anyway they decide to roll it into the workers comp and get me back into therapy for 18 more sessions, mind you i have already had 22. So i go to a new therapist and on my 2nd visit, the receptionist/manager puts the electric pulse things right on the scars of my knee and turns it on, well it was on full blast and jolted my knee. I screamed very loud and told him to turn it down, he said dont worry it will be numb in a minute, i told him no turn it down. He has no medical training at all! The therapist came over asked if i was alright then left room again and the manager guy told me to tell the doc that i have plans for Thanksgiving because he didnt want to work for the 4 day weekend. Anyway i reported this to my nurse case manager and they now are sending me to another therapist. So far so good, it is only my 2nd week. But geez is it ever going to end. My back feels exactly the same, not getting any better i have had close to 30 sessions of therapy on it and 3 sets of injections. And now am also having my knee worked on.....I am at a loss of what is going to happen after all of these therapy sessions. When is enough, enough? Where do i go from here and how do i get the relief that is actually going to make me feel better if i have three specialists that are all in disagreement on what treatment I need? And shouldnt i get another mri or something so they can see exactly how the disks are? The tests show nerve damage..... This is my story, sorry it is so long. Very frustrated!

you should request a second medical opinion from a doctor of your choosing

I already have a total of 4 docs involved and physical therapist.
Spine doc says i need surgery
Pain doc says i need more injection and possible surgery
Family doc going to see him and get his opinion next week
And then i have the IME doc, that wanted me to have 18 more sessions of therapy, after i already had 22 sesions. He wanted me to go to a different therapist. Since the first therapist was supposed to be making my back better but tore my meniscious in my knee.
I have been seeing a new therapist now and am at my 10th session and my back is still not feeling better.
I just dont know what else to do? It is getting harder to go to work, i have been working everyday. The only time i had off was when it first happened back in April, i was off for 2 weeks then i went back to work, i couldnt afford only getting 66% of my pay.....i have not been released to work, i have several restrictions. My employer has been great, i have a job where i do customer service and expediting so i am not tied to a desk and i dont have to stand all day either. But i am not getting better! My right leg is actually getting worse with the tingeling, numbness, and pain.

It is NOT working, it is NOT taking the swelling out of my nerves. I dont know what to do!

I dont have an attorney, i just want my pain to go away.....

    - - - Updated - - -

Also, my nurse case manager that has attended some of my visits, told me that i should contact the industrial commision of Az. ? She is the nurse that the worker comp assigned to me. She has suggested these other tests and what nots and WC wont go for any of it. At least this is what she is telling me.... she had even told me at one point that i should get a lawyer, but what is a lawyer going to do? Are they going to make me better?

I guess its time to get a lawyer, after the latest mri, I had 2 docs refer me to neuro surgeons and WC ignored both of them and had a district WC person refer me to another pain management place of they're choosing. This new doc is telling me he thinks that all of these other docs mis-informed or mis-diagnosed me? I have a ct scan, 2 mri's and an emg all from other docs that are not WC docs and they all showed issues with my spine and disks/nerves. and this new guy is telling me that all of these other docs are wrong? Seems very fishy if you ask me. I just want my back to stop hurting and the feeling back in my leg. Have I mentioned that i have not missed any work, except for doc appts. This has been going on for 11 months.

The case nurse is telling you to get a lawyer, and you are still wondering whether you need one? Really? Why do you think the nurse told you that?

It appears to me that you need the help of a lawyer in order to get the proper medical treatment needed to make you well. You noticed that the insurance company is sending you to the least expensive treatments, right? Why do you think that is? IT is because you are unrepresented, and therefore you don't know how to make them do what needs to be done.
