    Default What if You Agree with the Impairment Rating

    But you are not sure about the disfigurement $ amt. Basically I'm at a lost cause I ask them will my case be settle after receiving these pennies.

    You should consult your atty (or get one) before making any decision about resolving/settlement of your claim.
    "Pennies"...there is no money in comp for pain/suffering, a judge has the final decision on disfigurement awards. There are too many variables, and not enough info here to tell ya more about disfigurement...ie, extent, location, visibility, how it may affect your ability to compete in the open labor market. IE a person doing construction work with a sever scaring to the arm or face may not have as much difficulty as a person working in a bank or office dealing directly with the public.

    An employee may file a petition for disfigurement one year post accident/surgery for any scar, burn, or amputation related to the work accident. Disfigurement is paid out in a number of weeks up to 150 weeks, depending on the severity of the scar.

    the impairment/disfigurement benefits is your "settlement".
    workers comp is "no fault" and does not pay additional $$ for pain & suffering.
    both the worker and the employer are responsible for the injury and benefits are limited by law to wage loss, medical and impairment.
