    Default Partial Fingertip Amputation

I had a work injury that caused me to have my left (non dominant) index finger amputated at the first knuckle from the tip. I am just wondering what to expect for compensation and if an attorney is necessary? I still have a lot of recovery time but am nervous on whats going to happen. I am a maintenance Mechanic so my hands are my job. Any response is appreciated. Thanks
