Default Final Settlement and Re-Emploment Benefits

My workers compensation claim was made in the State of Alaska in August 2012. I had a fatal injury of my right arm in the fish processing machine. I had four surgeries in Alaska and then I went back to my home country where I had two more surgeries.

Have many limitations with my arm and costnat problems with nerve burning etc. my insurance adjuster provided me PPi rating of 19 percent in august 2014 to settle the claim. I was under elegibility evaluation in 2015 where they find i am elegible for reeployment benefits but adjuster opposed the result bcoz I finished bachelor degree after the injury
she convinced me to choose dislocation benefits to settle the claim. Unfortunately even after choosing disloacation benefits she is still continuing with her petition until I settle with her. She is forcing me to accept 10k to close future medical plus dislocation benefits plus remianing PPi money.

I am feeling of being tricked in this claim bcoz of lack of legal represebtation in alaska , i am now in USA to sick legal help and advices to deal with them , I dont know should I accept 10k to close medical or should I continues with the hearing of reemplyemnt benefits. Or should I take a lawyer at this point of the claim and if there is any one can recommend me a best lawyer in Alaska whom I can trust even when I am away from Alaska.

Total cost spent ok medical wxpenses is 2k paid by insurance company most of them paid while I was in Usa.

Status of my hand im feeling bad most of the time i have symptos of carpal tunnel sydrome.

    I welcome all advices. Thanks.

Never, ever, rely on an insurance adjuster for advice on how to close your claim. The adjuster's duty is to the insurance company, which is your adversary in this process.

You can find a good lawyer by looking for one on these web sites:,,, and

There may not be a whole lot of good workers' comp lawyers in Alaska. Hire the best one you can, without too much regard about where the lawyer is located in the state.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals has held that "In contested Workers' Compensation cases today, access to competent legal counsel is a virtual necessity." Church v. Baxter Travenol Labs, Inc., and American Motorists Insurance Company, 104 N.C. App. 411, 416 (1991).
