    Default Confused

    Hello,
I read this forum but being in Colorado other states info does not help, and my case is my case not another person's.
I work in education and we injured 9 months ago. I ended up with
    Schmorls node L2-L3 and L4
Mild disc desiccation and loss of international disc space L2-L3 and L4-L5
    L4-L5 fissure
Mild dextroconvex curvature of lumbar spine and mild scoliosis
Bilateral facet capsulitis at L2-L3, L3-L4 and L4-L5, suggested mild bilateral sacroiliac arthritis. (Soft tissue grossly unremarkable)
T12-L1, L1-L2, L2-L3 no stenosis or nerve root compression
L3-L4 shallow bulge and mild stenosis
L4-L5 disc protrusion and ligament hypertrophy, moderate stenosis and abutment
    L5-S1 minimal arthritis.
I have had three injections and physical therapy with mixed results.

I worked for 3 months with the injury, then was placed as unable to work for the last 4 months.
I was told by the carrier that I have to go to work full duty or lose my job. The Dr.s agreed to send me back and one suggested I am almost at MMI.
I have a few more therapy appointments and one more Doctor appointment.
I'm stressed beyond belief because I know and the doctors know I have not improved greatly.
There is no surgical option left an the specialist is pretty much done with me.

At this point I'm just a stick floating down the river. Please talk me through this situation.

The key words here are "mild" "shallow" "moderate" and no stenosis or nerve root compression

I was told by the carrier that I have to go to work full duty or lose my job.
That's not their call, only your treating physician can release you to work, with or without restrictions.

The Dr.s agreed to send me back and one suggested I am almost at MMI.
If your treating physician releases you to work with or without restrictions, you'll have to follow his orders.
From what you're saying, you don't have many options, it sounds like they're minimizing your injuries.
If you feel you're getting jacked around, consult a lawyer for a free evaluation - he may see something I'm missing.

    Good Luck
    Tony
