    Default Tragedy

Work comp only works for the people employed by it now. From The judges that have no Power to the insurance company’s to the no bid 40,000,000 dollar contract to some out of state paid Dr 400.00 to utilize and turn down your 2.50 ice pack ..to the paperpushers, attorneys and all the other people getting paid to make it as hard as possible to receive the benefits you were promised on the job....I’m calling bullshit.

Here in NC, the Republicans took over our state legislature in the 2010 election, and by the end of June 2011 they had passed a Workers' Compensation Reform Act that, among other things, terminated TTD for the most seriously injured people after 500 weeks. Before 2011, the most seriously injured had no cap on their TTD, and in theory, if they remained disabled the rest of their life, they could draw TTD for the rest of their life. No more. Reforming workers' comp by reducing benefits to injured workers was very high on their agenda when they took office in early 2011. And working people keep voting them back into office, because of those nasty communist "librals" wanting things like a "living wage" for low paid workers, and stuff like that.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals has held that "In contested Workers' Compensation cases today, access to competent legal counsel is a virtual necessity." Church v. Baxter Travenol Labs, Inc., and American Motorists Insurance Company, 104 N.C. App. 411, 416 (1991).
