Coming to the End of WC and Need

Gonna cut to the chase and try and make this short, I was injured on the job by a steel beam that I was lifting. I injured my L5/S1 and had surgery. Now that surgery has failed and left me with failed disc surgery syndrome and I have ssdi in place I asked comp if we could just settle so I could move on with my life and try to do something with my life. I'm 43 and have a 13% whole body impairment rating and neurosurgeon will not give me an ok to work and says I'm not fit to, it's going on 3 years and wanna end this,anyway insurname company offered me 28k and they have already given me 21k for my surgery should I take the 28k or get a lawyer since I still have to support my 4 kids? Please help!

I am a firm believer that going through this nightmare, a lawyer is a must....If someone gets stitches, twists an ankle fine....But they are professionals, and we need them more than ever!....Between your MSA and a settlement you will be dollars ahead IMHO.

Yeah and I probably should have had one from day 1 but everything was going so smoothly now it is too much for me to process so i'm just gonna try and find the best one, any suggestions?

That's a lowball rating for a failed back surgery and that offer is a joke.
Do not agree to anything, consult and retain a lawyer before proceeding further.
He can appeal that rating and make the carrier negotiate in good faith - these people are taking advantage of you, don't play it.
