Default Is It in My Best Interest to Get Attorney

I underwent SLAP tear surgery, bicep tendonitis repair, and mumford surgery on my right shoulder March 2018. I have returned to my job full duty still in pain. A coworker had mentioned MMI I didn't know what that was and I mentioned it to the doctor and he wouldn't comment. I have an upcoming appointment this March 2019 for the 1 year follow-up. Any advice?
    Thank you your time.

Consult a lawyer for a free consultation if they fail to do the right thing.
You should reach MMI (maximum medical improvement) and receive an impairment rating - you may be eligible for a perm impairment award based on that rating.

Yes, you need to get legal advice before you start talking to your doctor about "MMI" and such.
The North Carolina Court of Appeals has held that "In contested Workers' Compensation cases today, access to competent legal counsel is a virtual necessity." Church v. Baxter Travenol Labs, Inc., and American Motorists Insurance Company, 104 N.C. App. 411, 416 (1991).
