    Default Impairment Rating for Fractured Vertebrae

    Iím scheduled to see an impairment rating doctor.i fractured my T12 vertebrae and had surgery. What can I expect to be rated?

    It depends on how well you've healed, it's impossible for anyone to guess beforehand.

    The AMA Guides To The Evaluation of Permanent Impairment (4th Edition), which we use in Texas, allows for impairment for a T12 compression fracture. How high the impairment rating will be depends upon the symptoms that persist and the size of the compression fracture. The size alone can get you up to 20%.
