    Default Stacking or Consecutive Settlement Payments

    My workers compensation claim was made in the State of:
    I incurred multiple injuries and was curious if the IC can legally stack settlements of each injury. Basically they want to pay annuity on one then pay the annuity on the next injury down the road.
    My lawyer is looking into this, but thought it would be helpful conversation for others that might be in a similar situation.

    The North Carolina Court of Appeals has held that "In contested Workers' Compensation cases today, access to competent legal counsel is a virtual necessity." Church v. Baxter Travenol Labs, Inc., and American Motorists Insurance Company, 104 N.C. App. 411, 416 (1991).
