I got injured in the warehouse at work, I was trying to look for a product and when I went to lean down I hit my head on a steel beam. I instantly saw nothing but black, got a headache with a knot and it took my breath. A fellow employee was with me at the time and wrote a statement about hearing my head hit and me grabbing it and yelling in pain and they have also reviewed the video footage and seen the exact action as what my coworker wrote in his statement. The aisle and area in front of what I was looking for was also being blocked by pallets of product which gave me just enough room to slide in between of the pallets to even find the product on the first place, which also meant that the lighting in the area was blocked, therefore making it hard for me to see anyway. My manager was made aware of the injury and I went home. No incident report was filled out and I didn't go to the Dr. Fast forward to the third day and the pain has sky rocketed, I can not get any relief and have a terrible headache. I try to go into work and the same manager suggested I go to the Dr. So I go to the er per her request, Long story short, a CT scan and MRI later....I ended up with a concussion and some swelling on my brain. They call her and ask if she wanted me drug tested and she told them no it was irrelevant at that point. They er wants me to follow up with a neurologist due to the condition of the injury, and work is not wanting to pay to get me into see the neurologist. (It has now been 13 days from original date of injury) the symptoms are all still there, with the now added symptoms of constantly being tired but yet have insomnia, hard time focusing, occasionally forgetting things, and I am very depressed (as I assume most people would be after the injury, and now hassle of getting something done) I can not get anything done because I have no insurance, the regular dr can't treat me because of it being a concussion and the neurologist will not even see me until my work gives the okay. I also have discovered that the owner of the company is very upset with my manager for not following protocol and filling my report. What should I do???? Help!
