Doctor Changed My Status from No Work to Light Duty, TTD Stop

Hi. I have been on workers compensation and the doctor had placed me on no work from the beginning of my injury. My recent visit last week was with a specialist(first visit) and he changed my status to "sedentary work only", start date to begin that day. I have provided the doctors note to my supervisor and HR personnel by email. In CA are you required to show up immediately after the doctor changes work status, even when they don't have a sedentary job assigned? Or do I wait for them to offer me a position?

I've also come to find out that my adjuster issued a duty certification for no work that expired on the day I had an appointment with the specialist who placed me on light duty. My question is does the TTD stop between when the specialist changed my status to light duty up until they find a position for me? Or do they normally continue the TTD pay, do I receive no pay, or will they force me to use my own time (I hope this is not the case)?

TTD continues until your employer provides work within your restrictions.
At the first sign of problems lawyer up, don't argue with the employer or adjuster.

When you get a light duty note, you should tell your lawyer and provide a copy of it to the lawyer. If you don't have a lawyer, tell your employer you now have a light duty note, and ask if they can accommodate those restrictions and bring you back to work. Have this conversation by text or email if possible so that you have a record of it, in case they deny it later. And if you don't have a lawyer, you better be looking for one now.
