    Default Hernia Workman's Comp

I got an inguinal hernia at work in ca.
Followed the book on everything, and got an attorney.
I have had my surgery which was approved by workman's comp. I have my follow up appt. This week.upon telling my attorney this ,he told me to get a letter from surgeon stating my status, and then the ins.company is gonna fly me out to CA. To be looked at by there doctor.
    Is this a normal procedure?
My case is on delay and I have not received any benefits yet
    Please advise

    Are you still working?
If they approved the surgery, your case isn't on delay, it's been approved and you should be receiving wage loss payments.

The carrier should receive a status report from your surgeon, he should've already gave you a write up to present to your employer.
The carrier can fly you to their doctor for an IME if they're willing to pay for it - they usually wait until you're MMI.
